With martial arts booming every month, fight stores are popping up in various cities all over Canada.

Paul Tantalo and Anthony Ingarra are the owners of “Fight Depot,” which successfully opened its doors to a second location in Oakville Ontario.

Tantalo and Ingarra are avid fans and participants in the sport. Ingarra coming from a Kempo Karate background with many years of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, Thai Boxing and MMA experience. His partner Tantalo starting out in Japanese Jiu Jitsu and then got into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu not to long after.

Being that both Paul Tantalo and Anthony Ingarra were fans of the sport they were also familiar with how hard it was to find a place that sold gear and clothing. With the boom of the UFC showing its content on Spike TV fans like Tantalo and Ingarra were shopping online to find the clothing and gear they needed.

When online shopping you can usually find a cheaper deal, however there are a lot of hidden fees that come along with ordering a package off the internet. Shipping and handling are given fees everyone knows about, but there are sometimes insurance and brokerage fees.

PLUS you have to sometimes wait a long time to get your package depending what part of the world you’re ordering from. Not to mention Canadian money can be less or more then another countries money depending where you are buying from.

“By the time we ordered a shirt of 50 dollar value, it would turn into100 dollars” Tantalo explains.

Ingarra and Tantalo opened their first “Fight Depot” location in Vaughan because it’s where they have both resided for the last three years. Their decision for a second location in Oakville was inspired by Interrga who is a fire fighter for the Oakville region and loves the city.

But now a days, store owners really have to step outside the box because there are so many other locations where fans and fighters can get their gear and clothing.

“We spent countless hours trying to figure out a name that was unique and self explanatory” says Tantalo.

They didn’t want to be labeled as strictly a MMA store. Tantalo and Ingarra wanted a shop that could intertwine everything MMA related. So it can be a store where a fan, fighter, or just someone who likes the fashion could go and pick up what they needed.

“Our store’s attitude is very different from many other corner fight shops.  We are a fight lifestyle shop that has the upscale appearance without the upscale price tags” Tantalo explains.

When you walk into their shop everything is neatly displayed equally by brand with the price tags clearly labeled on their merchandise, the gear is in glass displays, making it easy to see and inspect.

The colour on the walls of the store gives off  a “raw and hardcore” vibe but suttle at the same time which is what the two owners had in mind.

Fight Depot is very passionate about their customer satisfaction and feel that without their customers they are nothing. Therefore they try and fulfill their client’s needs to the best of their ability.

“If we can help we will” says Tantalo.

Fight Depot likes to get to know their cliental, they want to know what they are up to that way they can meet everyone’s needs.
